All the Benefits of including Storage in your Solar Project
Thursday, 12 May 2022
by sakudarte
Energy storage is going to be one of the most important technologies in the shift toward clean energy systems. Because solar panels and wind turbines don´t operate continuously due to the intermittency of solar radiation and wind currents, the owner of these projects are forced to sell the electricity when these resources are available, and

Chart: What will a net-zero grid energy mix actually look like?
Wednesday, 04 May 2022
by Maria Virginia Olano
Massive amounts of new wind and solar will be a make-or-break ingredient of a net-zero grid. Solar power generated less than 4 percent of the world’s electricity in 2021; by 2050, solar’s share needs to jump to 33 percent. Wind power produced less than 7 percent of electricity globally last year; by 2050, that needs to grow to 35 percent. So said the International Energy Agency last year when it laid

The Italian Energy Prices Have Never Been Higher
Wednesday, 09 February 2022
by sakudarte
The cost of electricity in Italy has never been higher. This is what emerges from the data published by Arera, the Regulatory Authority for Energy, Networks, and the Environment. In the first weeks of 2022, the Italian energy prices per MWh had an average of 216,35 €. According to the same authority, the price is composed of 80.8% of energy, 8.4% of transportation and meter, and 10,8% taxes, while the system fees have been deducted from the government for the last quarter of 2021 and the first quarter of 2022. The main driver of such a huge increase is found in the cost of energy: in the last period, from the third to the fourth quarter of 2021, the price went from
